“Follow the River” ~ Dinner in the Country

A $50 gift certificate to The Palisades Restaurant in the tiny town (pop. ~300) of Eggleston Springs, less than 20   miles from the inn, plus homemade cookies, cider and the book “Follow the River”, the incredible, 600-mile journey of Mary Draper Ingles’ escape from the Cherokee Indians in the mid-1700s. Just before the restaurant turn-off, you will cross the New River at the spot - marked with an historic marker - where she was found by neighbors after following the river for weeks, barefoot and nearly starved. ~ $40
