Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and at Clay Corner Inn, we take seriously the opportunity to serve healthy, tasty, freshly prepared morning nourishment. Our commercial kitchen meets or exceeds state and county standards, and our staff is well trained in safe food storage, handling and preparation.
Monday to Friday mornings between 8 am & 9:45am and Saturday & Sunday mornings between 8:30am & 9:45am guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet with homemade baked goods, granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, orange juice, milk and water. Also, guests will be offered the hot entree breakfast of the day that can be your typical gourmet American or European dish. Either way the testimonials you can find online speak for themselves as to the quality and diversity of the food we serve at the Clay Corner Inn. This food can be enjoyed along with freshly brewed coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea, hot chocolate or hot spicy cider.
Whether you are here visiting your Hokie, on business, visiting family or just on vacation you can invite an outside guest to our wonderful breakfast for $15 + tax. All we need is 1 day in advance notice.
Remember we do want anyone to leave hungry so if there is a hot entree you do not care for then ask for something else. If you are still hungry after your hot entree and buffet then please ASK FOR SECONDS! This would be a compliment for us so do not be shy!

Eggs Benedict: Well known for being “Yummy” this poached egg on top of ham & whole wheat muffins then drizzled with hollandaise sauce, perfect for those hungry mornings.
Tofu Scramble: Perfect for Vegetarians & Vegans. Tofu tossed with tomatoes, onions & squash.
Philly Eggs with Bacon: Yet another favorite among the Clay Corner Guests. Philly cream cheese scrambled and served with bacon.
Crepe Anduze: Nicky’s french grandmother’s favorite. A crepe filled with ham & cheese with a drool of blackcurrant coulis and topped off with walnuts.
Tort Barcelones: This recipe Nicky brought with her from Barcelona Spain. An Egg bake made with potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, herbs & spices and served with a fresh tomato n’herb creamy sauce.
Fruit Quinoa: Something special for those looking for a healthy, high protein breakfast. We cook organic ancient Inca red or white Quinoa, wheat & gluten free with fresh fruit to give you the energy to tackle your day!
Banana Pancakes: Freshly filled pancakes with ripe bananas and topped with only the best maple syrup. You can be daring and request us to add chocolate chips also.
Homemade Cookies: Guests will have the opportunity to help themselves to homemade cookies, sodas, teas & coffee throughout the day. They are placed in each of the public living areas and kitchens.
